In observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC), the Gender and Development Division under the good leadership of Mayor Roseller H. Rizal intensified its advocacy to eliminate all forms of violence that incessantly manifest gender inequality to both women and girls who are considered as second class in the society.

Last December 5, 6, and 11, selected students from Bucal Elementary School, Real Elementary School, Halang Elementary School, Calamba Christian Academy Inc., and residents of Brgy. Lingga became the recipients of the said advocacy. The office conducted a lecture on the history of the campaign, laws and mandates, and different types of abuses that will greatly influence their future.

The goal is to empower them, give them voices, capacitate themselves with necessary knowledge and understanding, spread awareness, and ensure a VAW-free community.
