
HAPPENING NOW | The Gender and Development (GAD) Office under the Office of the City Mayor is currently hosting its Anti-VAW Painting Contest as to commence the kick-off ceremony of the nationwide 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women by highlighting the talents of ten (10) professional painters from Calamba City. The event served as a movement dedicated to raising awareness and inspiring collective action against gender-based violence.
With the contest theme, “πΎππππ¦πππ ππ’ππ π π ππππhππ ππ: πΌπ πππ ππππππ ππ ππππ πππππ‘ πππππππhππ πππ ππ’πππ ππ”, the contest emphasizes the importance of shared responsibility in addressing and combating violence. It calls for everyone-men, women, and all sectors of society-to unite in the effort to create a safer and more equitable world.
Through the expressive power of art, this initiative aims to spark conversations, provoke thought, and inspire action to break the cycle of abuse and oppression. The paintings created during this contest will serve as symbols of hope, resilience, and the collective fight against violence.
